Droopy Fingertip
Disruption of the terminal extensor tendon at its insertion on the distal phalanx, causing an extensor lag (droop) at the DIPJ. Caused by forced flexion of an extended DIPJ: typically ball striking fingertip. May be tendinous (soft tissue) or bony (avulsion fracture). Common sporting injury.
