Extra Bone at Base of Spine Causing Pain

Symptomatic lumbosacral transitional vertebra (LSTV): the lowest lumbar vertebra has an enlarged transverse process that articulates with or fuses to the sacrum/ilium. Prevalence of LSTV: 4-36% of population (most asymptomatic). Castellvi classification (I-IV) based on morphology.
