Pes Anserine Bursitis / Tendinopathy
Inner Knee Pain Below Joint Line
Pain at the pes anserine (combined insertion of sartorius, gracilis, semitendinosus on proximal medial tibia, ~5cm below medial joint line). Common in overweight women with knee OA, runners, and swimmers (breaststroke). Often diagnosed as medial meniscal tear: distinguished by tenderness BELOW the joint line.
