PCL Injury
Rear Knee Ligament Tear
Rupture of the posterior cruciate ligament: less common than ACL (3-20% of knee ligament injuries). Classic mechanism: dashboard injury (direct blow to proximal tibia with knee flexed) or fall onto flexed knee. Often missed acutely. Isolated PCL injuries frequently managed conservatively. Combined PCL + posterolateral corner = surgical.
