Patellar Tendinopathy (Jumper's Knee)
Kneecap Tendon Pain
Tendinopathy of the patellar tendon, typically at the inferior pole of the patella (proximal insertion). Prevalence up to 45% in volleyball players, 32% in basketball. Almost exclusively in jumping/landing athletes. Pain is load-dependent: worse with energy-storage activities (jumping, landing, change of direction), better with rest.
