Osteochondritis Dissecans: Knee
Bone-Cartilage Damage in Young Knees
Localised separation of articular cartilage and underlying subchondral bone from the femoral condyle. Most common in the knee (75% of OCD). Typical location: lateral aspect of medial femoral condyle (classic site). Age: juvenile form (open physis, better prognosis) vs adult form (closed physis, worse). Can progress to loose body formation if fragment detaches.
