Proximal Hamstring Tendinopathy
Upper Hamstring Pain (Sitting Bone)
Tendinopathy of the proximal hamstring tendons at their origin on the ischial tuberosity. Common in distance runners and sprinters. Pain on the sitting bone (ischial tuberosity): often described as "a pain in the backside." Distinguished from acute hamstring tear by insidious onset and absence of specific injury event.
