Ischiofemoral Impingement
Hip Pinching at the Back
Narrowing of the ischiofemoral space (between the ischial tuberosity and the lesser trochanter) causing compression of the quadratus femoris muscle. Recently recognised entity. Causes posterior hip/buttock pain worse with hip extension, adduction, and external rotation. More common in women (wider pelvis, more valgus).
