Peroneal Tendinopathy / Subluxation
Outer Ankle Tendon Problem
Tendinopathy, tear, or subluxation of peroneus longus and/or brevis. Lateral ankle pain posterior to the fibula. Peroneal subluxation: tendons snap out of the retromalleolar groove (torn superior peroneal retinaculum): usually from acute ankle dorsiflexion or skiing. Often mistaken for lateral ankle sprain.
